Activity Overview
Get ready for an unforgettable 2-day escape where high-adrenaline adventure meets serene natural beauty!
⛺ Campground - for Friday 26/06 and Saturday 27/06
Your home for the weekend is the beautiful local campground Campsite Vrachos Kastraki, nestled right under the towering stone giants. After traveling on Friday, kick off your shoes, pitch your tent, and dive straight into the swimming pool to refresh under the stars.
🧗 Saturday (Day 1): The Edge Challenge
- Morning/Afternoon: Strap into your harness! We are conquering the ancient routes of Meteora via a guided Via Ferrata. For 4 to 6 hours, you will scale vertical cliffs, cross dizzying ridges, and stand on peaks that will make you feel on top of the world.
- Late Afternoon & Evening: Enjoy well-deserved free time. Head back to the campsite for a celebratory splash in the pool, or stroll through the charming streets of Kastraki for a hearty traditional dinner and a magical sunset view.
🥾 Sunday (Day 2): Monasteries & Scenic Trails
- Morning: We wrap up the weekend with a relaxed, scenic hike winding through the lush valley paths. You will get up close to the famous cliffside monasteries, capture incredible photos, and soak in the mystical, peaceful vibes before we head home.
🥾 Trail Etiquette & Safety
- Yield to the uphill: Hikers going uphill have the right of way. Step aside safely to let them maintain their rhythm.
- Leave no trace: Pack it in, pack it out. This includes organic waste like banana peels and apple cores, which take months to decompose.
- Stay on the designated path: Cutting switches causes severe soil erosion and destroys local flora.
- Say hello: A quick friendly nod or "Kalimera" lets others know you are aware of them and helps build a supportive trail community.
🧗 Via Ferrata Specifics
- Maintain clip distance: Always leave at least two cable anchors between you and the person ahead so you don't compromise each other's safety gear.
- Yell "ROCK!": If you accidentally dislodge a stone, shout "ROCK!" immediately to warn anyone climbing below you.
- Never unclip both carabiners: Always keep at least one safety arm locked onto the lifeline cable at all times.
🤫 Nature & Respect
- Keep the volume down: Use headphones if you want music. Most people head to the mountains to enjoy the sounds of nature.
- Respect the monasteries: Meteora is a sacred site. Keep voices low near the structures and pack modest clothing (sleeves and long pants/skirts) if you plan to step inside.
