1. Purpose of Chat Functionality
The in-app chat is designed to enhance user experience by enabling communication between team members, groups, event participants, and organizers. It is meant to facilitate coordination, foster community, and create a safe, respectful environment for all users.
2. Acceptable Use
By using the chat features, you agree to:
- Communicate respectfully and constructively with others
- Use chat only for activity- or group-related discussions
- Avoid spamming, advertising, or self-promotion
- Keep communication appropriate for users of all backgrounds and ages
3. Prohibited Behavior
The following conduct is strictly prohibited in all chat functions:
- Hate speech, discrimination, racism, or harassment of any kind
- Threats, bullying, or intimidation
- Sexual, violent, or explicit content
- Sharing of illegal or harmful content
- Impersonation of others, including moderators or platform staff
- Posting of personal information (e.g., addresses, phone numbers) without consent
- Unauthorized sharing of copyrighted material or promotional links
4. Moderation

Privacy: We do not routinely monitor your chat messages for surveillance. Messages are private between participants. Participants may nonetheless submit a report and request our moderation; in that case we may review relevant reported message context and take action under this policy.

Violations may result in:
- Temporary or permanent chat suspension
- Account restrictions or ban
- Reporting to appropriate authorities (if applicable)
5. Privacy and Responsibility
- While we strive to provide a safe environment, users are responsible for the content they post
- Private chat messages are not publicly visible but are still subject to these terms
- We recommend exercising caution when sharing personal information
6. In-app safety: Report and block
Report a message or user
If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior in chat, use the in-app Report option on the relevant message or user profile. You can choose a reason—such as spam, harassment, inappropriate content, or other—and optionally add a short description. The report may include context such as which chat the message came from. Our team reviews reports to enforce this policy. You can also email us at support@voorsocial.com.
Block a user
Block limits how you interact with someone on the platform: they will not appear in your friends list (people you meet through shared teams and activities). For chat push notifications, neither you nor the other person receives those notifications for messages between you when either of you has blocked the other. You can manage or remove blocks from your account or privacy settings in the app.
7. Your choices: chats, notifications, and account

Leaving chats: You have the right to leave group or team chats at any time using the in-app options. After you leave, you will not receive new messages from that conversation, consistent with how the feature works in the app. For team chat, you can leave when you prefer less activity or notifications, and join the team chat again later if you change your mind, as long as you remain a member of that team and the feature is available in the app.

Message notifications: You have the right to disable or limit chat message notifications (including push delivery and in-app notification category preferences) through notification settings in the app or on your device. Certain service or transactional notices may still apply as described in our App Privacy Policy.

Deleting your account: You have the right to delete your account. How to request deletion, timelines, and exceptions (such as legal retention) are described in Section 12 of our App Privacy Policy (in-app: Profile → Delete Account, or via our contact page / support@voorsocial.com from your account email).
8. Changes to the Chat Policy
We may update this Chat Usage Policy at any time to reflect changes in platform features or community needs. Users will be notified of significant changes through the app or email.
