How team invitations work
When a team captain registers and pays for a pre-paid team, they can invite teammates by email address only. Each invitee receives an invitation email with a secure link to accept or decline the invitation.
- A team registration spot is reserved for the invitee until they accept, decline, or the invitation expires.
- The invitee's registration is only created after they accept and complete the steps on the invitation page.
- The captain does not enter profile details (name, birth date, size, etc.) on behalf of invitees. Invitees provide their own information when they accept.
- Declining or ignoring an invitation does not affect your account or any existing registrations.
Captain's responsibilities
By inviting a teammate, the team captain confirms that:
- They have the invitee's consent to use that email address to send a team invitation for this activity.
- They are authorized to invite that person to join this team on Voor Social.
- If the invitee is a minor, they have the legal guardian's consent.
Voor Social is not responsible for invitations sent without the recipient's prior consent.
Your rights as an invitee
If you receive an invitation you did not expect or believe you were invited by mistake:
- Decline the invitation using the link in the email — no registration is created until you accept.
- Contact us at support@voorsocial.com to have the invitation removed.
- You will not be added to any marketing list as a result of receiving an invitation.
Data stored at invite time
When a captain invites you, we store:
- Your email address (as entered by the captain).
- The date and identity of the captain who sent the invitation.
- The activity and team the invitation relates to.
We do not collect your profile details from the captain. Any name, birth date, gender, size, or account information is provided by you when you accept the invitation (or is taken from your existing Voor Social account if you already have one).
If you do not accept within 7 days, the invitation expires and your data is not used to create a registration. You may request deletion at any time by contacting support@voorsocial.com.
Accepting an invitation
When you accept:
- You confirm that you agree to join this team for the stated activity.
- You agree to the team participation terms and Voor Social Terms of Service (shown on the acceptance page).
- If you do not yet have a Voor Social account, you create one and enter your own profile details as part of acceptance.
- If you already have an account, you sign in (or are recognized by email) and confirm acceptance.
Only after acceptance is a completed team registration created under your account. Standard Voor Social Terms of Service and Privacy Policy apply from that point forward.
